About Me

I live in a wonderful part of Rochdale a truly lovely place on the edge of the Pennines, giving me a wonderful work/life balance.

Back in 2018, over 7- days, a viral infection took all my hearing, so now a cochlear implant cyborg dealing, as I am told, admirably with the barriers it brings. Deafness brings lots of barriers, but nothing that I let hold me back. 

In fact it lets me use my technical know-how to help myself and others using my life-long passion for creating solutions and problem solving.

Qualifications & Accreditations

I started my career as an electronics and mechanical engineer, so have HND and HNC in both skills.

However, my real expertise has been gained through experience, being at the coal face as it were, resolving real world problems. So if you are looking for letters and qualifications, I’m probably not the person for you.

My love of mentoring has been rally rewarding as I have helped many entrepreneurs take their business ideas to profitable businesses.

I am a mentor for the Help to Grow programme and a member of the ABM mentoring group to.  

My Experience

I have been very fortunate to have seen many parts of the world, gaining a mass of experience through being part of two highly successful OEM machinery start-ups that pioneered and brought to market innovative weighing, inspection and automation machinery for the food and process industries.   

I have developed a wide techno-commercial awareness through designing and bringing to market innovative weighing and inspection equipment. Being involved with every aspect from initial concept, setting up departments and processes, growing the business and looking after a worldwide customer base and supplier network.

As such I bring over 30-years breadth of experience that I can help you deliver your business needs.

Furthermore, I have a passion for helping others by using my expertise to help others living with disability and impairments. Finding the right solutions that breakdown the barriers to work. This has also led me to providing support to the VCSE sector supporting a deaf charity and co-running a local def group.
